As reported by NBC affiliate WAVE 3 in Louisville, KY a local Georgetown man, Michael Grubb,was involved in a deadly crash in Owen County early Tuesday morning.
NEW LIBERTY, KY (WAVE) – One person was killed and two others seriously injured in a crash in Owen County.
State police say a preliminary investigation shows a car was heading south on Highway 35 when it left the roadway and overturned several times.
Killed in the crash was a passenger in the car, Justin Renfro, 24, of Owenton, KY. The driver, Michael Grubb, 26 of Georgetown, KY, and a second passenger, Drew Mason, 26, of Sparta, KY, were flown to University of Cincinnati Hospital for treatment.
KSP said alcohol is being looked at as a factor in the crash and that no one in the car was wearing a seatbelt. According to Kentucky State Police in Campbellsburg, the single vehicle crash happened on Highway 35 just before 2 a.m. Tuesday.

(New Liberty, KY) – An Owen County man has been killed and two others have been seriously injured in an overnight crash on Highway 35. Kentucky State Police dispatchers received a call of a single vehicle crash at 1:59 this morning. Preliminary investigation shows that the car, driven by 26 year old Michael Grubb of Georgetown, KY, was traveling south on Highway 35 when the vehicle left the roadway for unknown reasons and rolled several times. Grubb was flown by Air Methods, Inc. to the University of Cincinnati Hospital. A passenger in the vehicle, 24 year old Justin Renfro of Owenton, KY, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Owen County Coroner. Another passenger, 26 year old Drew Mason of Sparta, KY, was also flown by Air Methods, Inc. to the University of Cincinnati Hospital. Alcohol is a suspected factor in the crash. No one in the vehicle was wearing a seat belt. Trooper Dusty Corbin, an accident reconstructionist, is leading the ongoing investigation. Trooper Corbin was assisted at the scene by the Owen County Sheriff’s Department, Owen County Life Squad, Owen County Rescue, Owen County Fire Department, and the New Liberty Fire Department.
As released by Kentucky State Police, "Alcohol is a suspected", but no charges have been filed as of yet. Georgetown, Kentucky - Crime Blog, spoke to Kentucky State Police Trooper Brad Arterburn, Public Affairs Officer, this morning and he confirmed that no charges had been filed and that it was still an "ongoing Investigation".
