Man Accused of Sexual Abuse is Former Scott Co. Police Chief

The local Georgetown man, 65-year-old Phillip Dwayne Wise, accused of Sexual abuse in the first degree (Class D felony) was the former Scott County Chief of Police.

Back in those days -- over 25-years ago -- there was no Georgetown City Police. Instead, Georgetown relied on the Scott County Sheriff and a newly formed Scott County Police agency (in which the defendant served as chief).

This information was confirmed to Georgetown, Kentucky - Crime Blog by official sources inside the Scott County Courthouse.

The defendant also served as Georgetown Scott County Constable, for District 1, as well. This was also confirmed by an official within the Constables.

More to come on the court case as it develops in the future.

  3. Thanks for the summary. The quick history we gave was the best we could figure from notes taken during an interview about the defendant. If the history we quoted is inaccurate in any way, please post a link if possible and we'll edit the article.
