Local Man Violates Felony Probation with New Felony Charges


Local Georgetown resident, 35-year-old David Lee Brashears, was processed into the Scott County Detention Center on November 6th for Probation violation for felony offense. As of this morning he's still being held on $7,500 bond.

The case dates back to 2008 when Brashears was found guilty of numerous charges, including Cultivation of marijuana and Theft by unlawful taking, according to Scott Circuit Court Judgement and Sentence documents.

The defendant was placed on five-years probation with a one-year prison sentence probated for each case.

Fast forward  to September 11-18 of 2012. According to three separate Uniform Citations; the defendant is now being charged with Theft by unlawful taking and Burglary in the second degree (both serious felony charges).

The new cases have been waived to the Grand Jury, according to court documents the defendant had made $5,000 bond back on September 25th.
