Deputies Bust Meth Lab

Three detectives from the Scott County Sheriff's Office and two Kentucky State Police Troopers served a warrant for suspected manufacturing of methamphetamine at the 600 block of George Martin Ave.

According to reports, before entering the detectives asked the suspect - 49-year-old Anthony Allen Hedges - if there was a meth lab inside the premises. He replied by saying no.

Upon searching the residence, deputies say they found an active one-step meth lab inside a backpack in an upstairs closet and at least two inactive labs.

Mr. Hedges allegedly admitted - post miranda - that the meth lab was his and that he'd been manufacturing for about a month.

Due to the subject's residence being a duplex and sharing an attic space with the adjoining unit; he has been charged with Controlled substance endangerment to child. The neighbors, who have children, stated they could smell a strong odor of chemicals and had been waking up with headaches.

The defendant has also been charged with Manufacturing methamphetamine and two counts of Wanton endangerment in the first degree.

Mr. Hedges is currently being held on $50,000 bond at the Scott Detention Center and is scheduled to be back in Circuit Court on the 29th.
