Walmart Robbery Case to Grand Jury, Defendant Makes Bond

The case against 37-year-old Jason Alan Harmon dates back to last year, according to a Warrant of Arrest issued May 9th of 2012.

The warrant alleges that Mr.Harmon committed Robbery in the first degree when he used physical force against a female victim in the parking lot of Walmart in Georgetown to steal her purse.

Police say the victim sustained minor injuries and was transported to the hospital for treatment.

The defendant has plead not guilty and the case has been waived to the Grand Jury. Mr. Harmon's co-defendant, the driver of the vehicle, has identified him as the subject who took the purse from the victim. Usually with compelling evidence like this the Grand Jury will return with an indictment. In fact, in most cases they just follow the recommendation of The Commonwealth.

The defendant has been released on a partially secured bond of $10,000. He was transported to Scott County Detention Center recently after serving a sentence in Fayette County. We were unable to reach the information officer at the Fayette County Detention Center at the time of this article and therefore have no information of the nature of Mr. Harmon's charges or length of sentence there.
