Georgetown Couple had Meth Lab Next to 7-year-old Child's Bedroom

According to a May 2012 Scott County Sheriff's Uniform Citation; Steven Dale Cawood had a "one-step" Meth Lab in the bathroom of his girlfriend Melanie Anne Frashure's home.

Next door to the bathroom was the bedroom of Frashure's 7-year-old daughter.

Cawood has now been Indicted on three felony counts including Manufacturing Methamphetamine - first offense, Controlled substance - endangerment to child - fourth degree, and Persistent felony offender - second degree.

The mother, has also been Indicted for Facilitation to manufacturing methamphetamine - first offense, and Controlled substance - endangerment to child - fourth degree.

The incident stems from the Scott County Sheriff's Office doing a "knock and talk" at the residence on Victoria Way in Georgetown. The defendant, Melanie Anne Frashure, explained to the deputies that she didn't cook meth but her boyfriend did. The deputies approached Cawood outside the residence and he gave them permission to search his vehicle. Then both defendants gave permission to search the home.

Both searches resulted in the recovery of evidence to justify the arrests and both subjects were placed in custody.

The defendants have been released from the Scott County Detention Center and have court hearings scheduled for December 3rd.
