Scott County Deputies Make Heroin Bust

Wayne Thornton

Last week Scott County Sheriff's detectives arrested 31-year-old Cincinnati, OH resident Wayne Thornton for Trafficking controlled substance (heroin), Possession of marijuana, and Drug paraphernalia.

Official records allege that deputies gave a confidential informant $600 to make a controlled buy from Thornton at the Pilot Truck Stop in Georgetown. The CI stated that the purchased heroin came from the defendant and the transaction was observed by deputies.

Deputies then made a traffic stop of the defendant's vehicle on I-75 and placed him in custody.

Thornton is being held at the Scott County Detention Center on $5,000 full cash awaiting a court date of February 21st at 1:30 p.m. according to jail officials.
