GPD: Drunk Driver Had .270 Blood Alcohol

Officers from the Georgetown Police Department were dispatched to a disabled vehicle on I-75 last month. As they approached the scene, police say they observed 34-year-old Jaclyn Suzanne Jones - with no attempt to brake or avoid - strike the stalled vehicle in the emergency lane and flip several times.

The police report says the occupant of the disabled vehicle was standing alongside of it and could have been "severely injured or killed."

The defendant was reportedly removed from the scene by EMS and transported to UK. Police then obtained a warrant for the results of her blood alcohol level, which was .270. That level of alcohol is commonly described as a "stupor" and is over three times the legal limit in the State of Kentucky.

The defendant was arrested on a Scott County warrant on October 14th. She has been charged with DUI, Reckless driving, Wanton endangerment in the first degree, Failure of owner to maintain required insurance, and Failure to notify address change to Dept. of Transportation.

Ms. Jones is currently released on $10,000 bond awaiting a court date of Oct. 15th, according to jail records.
