Last week Georgetown Police were dispatched to the Georgetown Walmart in reference to a shoplifter observed by Loss Prevention stealing a Blu-Ray player and a Roku Box. The items were valued at $138.00 and $98.00.
The police arrived and quickly identified the defendant, Mark Royal Wood, in the parking lot and placed him in custody.
The defendant is listed as a resident of Lexington on Alexandria Drive according to Scott County Detention Center records. However, the Uniform Citation lists his address as Smith Street in Springfield, Tennessee.
The stolen items were only partially recovered. The Blu-Ray player was discovered under a vehicle but the Roku Box was never found. That would seem to indicate there was another subject involved in the crime as there is no vehicle listed in the report and his address was listed as Lexington. But that is only speculation at this point on our part.
The defendant is charged with Theft by unlawful taking and was scheduled to appear in court on November 20th.
