Georgetown Man Charged with Drug Trafficking























According to Georgetown Police records; On November 14th a qualified informant made three separate buys of illegal narcotics from a Georgetown resident, 38-year-old Rudolfo Jose Ruiz.

The drug buys were in this order: Five Percocets, then five more Percocets, and lastly Methamphetamine.

After making the buys the police then obtained a search warrant and discovered the defendant to be in possession of Cocaine, Methamphetamine, and Percocets. The arrest location was Nancy Lane on November 21st.

The defendant faces seven charges in total according to two pages of Scott County Court records.

The initial bail was set at $35,000 and the judge deemed him a flight risk. No further details at this time.

Kentucky State Police: Post 12 Set the Trap for Georgetown Heroin Bust


In an undercover investigation, Kentucky State Police: Post 12 made a controlled buy of narcotics from Vontimmias "Von" Decole Fields, resulting in a major drug case.

In all, the defendant faces as many as twelve different charges ranging from Trafficking in controlled substance to Possession of a (loaded) handgun by convicted felon, and the list goes on. The charges can be viewed in full on two pages of Scott County Court records.

The KSP listed a summation of the incident in a press release:
On Monday, November 26, 2012, at approximately 8 pm, Post 12 KSP Narcotics Detectives investigation led them to a Motel in Scott County. The investigation turned up 26 grams of Heroin (with a street valued of $5200.00) Suboxone, Marijuana, Cocaine, $2554.00 in cash and a stolen loaded handgun.

The case unfolded like this; First the KSP made a control buy using a confidential informant. Then a search warrant was executed at the defendant's residence. Inside the Troopers discovered a "large quantity" of heroin, a loaded stolen handgun, various other drugs, and paraphernalia.

Next, the KSP located the suspect at Colonial Gardens Apartments and when they approached he allegedly tried to destroy some of the evidence (heroin), and threw some under a vehicle.

Lastly, upon transporting the defendant to Scott County Detention Center, according to KSP, the defendant was asked if he had anything else illegal on him. He answered no.

After searching the defendant they located more baggies of suspected drugs and pills. The items were located in the subjects rectum.

The defendant is being held at the Scott County Detention Center pending a future court date. He was deemed a flight risk and a danger to himself and others by Judge Vanessa Dickson.

Updated: Owenton Men Indicted on Scott County Drug Trafficking Charges

Updated November 9th:

The indictment and case against Marvin Bryan Keith has been dismissed by Scott County Circuit Court Judge Paul Isaacs.

Officers from Kentucky State Police, Post 5 arrested two Owenton, KY men on Scott County Felony Indictments for drug trafficking.

The men were processed at The Scott County Detention Center on October 29th at 3:33 p.m.

The first defendant, Marvin Bryan Keith, is being charged with Trafficking a controlled substance, Persistent felony offender, and has a holder (another case[s]) from Franklin County.

The charges involve the defendant allegedly selling Oxycodone pills, on more than one occasion, to a confidential informant. The details are outlined in the Scott County Indictment. He's being held on $21,000 full cash bond pending a November 2nd court date.

The second defendant, Mathew Adam Keith, is charged with Trafficking a controlled substance. The details of his indictment are similar in that allegedly he sold Oxycodone pills to a confidential informant once. He's also being held on $10,000 bond until a November court date.
