According to a Uniform Citation from the Georgetown Police Department; 29-year-old Mark Anthony Soard was driving intoxicated last Thursday evening and left the scene of the accident.
Police responded to a call of a non-injury accident near the corner of Darby Drive and Darby Lane and the victim directed them to the suspect driving away.
After making a traffic stop and ascertaining through a SFST the suspect had been drinking, the officer placed him under arrest (suspect did admit to drinking at Applebee's before the accident).
The suspect also had some traffic violations. In all, the defendant is charged with Operating a motor vehicle under the influence, Leaving the scene of an accident, Failure of owner to maintain required insurance, and Operating vehicle with expired operators.
