DUI Arrest Leads to Hospital Scuffle with Police

Georgetown Fire Station No. 1

Tammy Laufon Kidd
Police were investigating a single vehicle accident on Wellington Way and Lee Drive last Friday evening. The operator of the vehicle, 49-year-old Tammy Laufon Kidd, had struck a light pole and snapped it in half.

When the officers approached the scene the driver was pacing back and forth and showed signs she could not walk without stumbling. The suspect had slurred speech, refused all sobriety tests, and stated she could not do them.

The suspect, according to police, then became irate, disorderly, and when placed in custody she started banging her head on the police vehicle window.

Upon arrival at the E.R. the subject was tempting the officers to use a Taser on her and then took a swing at them. She was placed into restraints by two officers and refused all lab work. Ms. Kidd has been charged with DUI, Disorderly conduct, and Assault on police officers.

The defendant was released from Jail on Feb. 16th on $10,000 unsecured surety bond.
