Georgetown police arrested Michael Landan Hickey yesterday for an active warrant out of Grant County, Kentucky. Mr. Hickey is listed as a resident of the 300 block of Avawam Drive in Richmond, KY. Upon further investigation they learned that the suspect had a felony full extradition warrant from Hamilton County, Tennessee for Theft over $1,000.
This information was verified, according to police, through a NCIC check and confirmation by the Hamilton County Sheriff in TN.
The defendant not only faces the Kentucky and Tennessee warrants but also a new charge from the Commonwealth. The charge is KRS statute 440.270(2) - Person charged with crime in other state may be arrested in this state -- Procedure -- Warrant required. The warrant was issued and served yesterday on the defendant.
Circuit Court documents say the Judge granted permission for pick up on 3/26/13 at 1:30 p.m. The defendant is being held at the Scott County Detention Center.
