Convicted Sex Offender back in Jail


30-year-old Steven Gregory Anselmi - listed as a resident of the 3000 block of Appian Way in Lexington - is currently being held at the Scott County Detention Center for Failure to comply with sex offender registration (a violation of his probation).

Mr. Anselmi was issued an arrest warrant for not being at his registered address at the 600 block of N. Broadway in Georgetown and could not be located by authorities.

The original case dates back to March 3, 2008 when The Grand Jury returned an indictment. Mr. Anselmi was charged with the offense of Rape in the second degree when he engaged in sexual intercourse with a 12-year-old female.

The time of the offense is stated as October and November of 2003 and the subject was 20-years-old at the time.

Mr. Anselmi originally entered a plea of not guilty, but withdrew that plea and agreed to the charge of Sexual abuse in the first degree.  He was adjudicated guilty and was sentenced to five years probation, six months in jail, no contact with victim, enrollment in sex offender counseling, pay any cost for mental health treatment for the victim, and three years in prison probated.

The subject is currently being held on $20,000 bond pending a future court date.
